An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Class 1 Night Driver to join our team based at our Leeds site.
About the role
As a Class 1 Driver, you’ll play a key role in delivering stock safely, securely, and on time to customer locations. You’ll operate your vehicle with care, follow legal and company standards, and ensure every delivery point is left safe and secure. Working independently for long periods, you’ll represent Torque on the road—acting with professionalism, responsibility, and outstanding attention to detail.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
What you will do:
>Carry out daily walk‑around checks to ensure the vehicle and trailer are roadworthy
>Ensure secure load restraint and safe loading practices
>Drive safely, professionally, and with consideration for other road users
>Comply with all laws, EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Road Transport Working Time Directive
>Communicate delays or issues promptly to relevant colleagues
>Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle—inside and out
>Complete all required documentation in a timely manner

What We're Looking For:
Must have:
> C + E licence, preferably with experience within the logistics sector
> Current Driver CPC card & Digital Tachograph card
> Good knowledge of health and safety
> Good level of numeracy and literacy
> Attention to EU Drivers hours regulations and Road Transport Working Time Directive
> Flexibility
> Ability to communicate effectively
Physical requirements:
> Coupling and uncoupling of trailers
> Access & egress of Vehicle
> Closing and opening of trailer curtains / roller doors
>Securing loads using straps
> Lifting / manual handling
> Moving pallets with use of a pallet truck
> Operating tail lifts

Shift Pattern:
> Core hours are 44.25hrs any 5 over 7 days between 17:00-04:00, with a degree of flexibility required to meet the demands of the business with the requirement to be open to doing some nights out on a weekly basis and occasional weekend work.
