Help shape a brand-new oncology service from day one
Our new Guildford SACT unit opens in December 2026, and we’re looking for an experienced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our founding team.
This is much more than joining a new building. You’ll be part of something from the very beginning — helping shape how the service operates, supporting the development of the team and contributing to the standards of care that will define our newest and largest SACT service.

Your role
- Provide expert nursing care and specialist oncology support to patients from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
- Act as a key point of contact for patients and their families, providing expert advice, education and reassurance while coordinating care across the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Undertake holistic nursing assessments and develop personalised care plans.
- Provide specialist oncology advice, education and support to patients and their families.
- Run nurse-led clinics and support clinical decision-making.
- Recognise and respond to changes in patients’ condition, treatment-related side effects and other clinical concerns.
- Provide telephone advice and support to patients when required.
- Support the development of the new SACT service and help establish best practice from the outset.

What you'll bring
- Current NMC registration.
- Significant experience working within oncology/cancer care.
- Experience supporting patients throughout diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and patient advocacy skills.
- The ability to provide specialist advice and support to patients and colleagues.
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach and the confidence to help shape a new service.
