Sales & Customer Service Executive
Location: Deeside, North Wales
Pay: £14 per hour + commission
Hours: 30–37 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Part-time
About us
Door Warehouse is a well-established, growing business supplying internal and external doors, windows and home finishing products from our showroom in Deeside.
We've built our reputation on excellent customer service, straightforward advice and looking after our customers properly from their first enquiry through to completion.
We're growing and are looking for another great person to join our sales team.
About the role
We're looking for a Sales & Customer Service Executive who enjoys dealing with people, is commercially minded and, importantly, takes ownership of their work.
You'll deal with customers from their initial enquiry through to quotation, follow-up and sale, helping them choose the right products and making sure the details of their order are correct.
This isn't a high-pressure or scripted sales environment. We want our customers to receive genuinely helpful advice and a great experience.
At the same time, we're a busy business generating a high volume of enquiries and quotations, so we're looking for someone who enjoys turning opportunities into sales and proactively following customers up rather than simply waiting for the phone to ring.
Attention to detail is extremely important. Doors, windows and associated products involve measurements, finishes, opening configurations, hardware and other specifications that need to be right.
You'll receive full product and systems training, so previous experience in the door or building industry isn't essential.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Answering new sales and existing-order enquiries by phone, email and online channels
- Welcoming customers into our Deeside showroom and helping them choose suitable products
- Taking ownership of your customers from initial enquiry through to order
- Producing clear and accurate quotations
- Proactively following up outstanding quotes and sales opportunities
- Helping customers with product choices and specifications
- Checking measurements and information returned from site surveys
- Making sure orders are accurate before they are processed
- Keeping customers updated throughout the sales and ordering process
- Recording customer activity, follow-ups and information accurately within our CRM system
- Working closely with our operations, warehouse and installation teams
- Helping colleagues when the showroom or sales office is particularly busy
- Looking for what needs doing next rather than waiting to be asked
What we're looking for
More than anything, we're looking for the right attitude.
You'll ideally be someone who is:
- Friendly, confident and genuinely enjoys speaking with customers
- Naturally proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for their own workload
- Commercially minded and enjoys converting enquiries into sales
- Excellent at following things through to completion
- Very organised and comfortable managing several customers and quotations at once
- Strong on attention to detail
- Confident communicating by telephone and email
- Comfortable using CRM and computer systems
- Calm and helpful when dealing with difficult situations
- Happy working within a small team where everyone helps when things get busy
- Reliable and punctual
Previous sales or customer service experience would be beneficial, but attitude, organisation and attention to detail are more important to us than experience within our industry.
What success looks like
We want someone who gets to know their customers, produces accurate work and takes pride in seeing a sale through properly.
You'll be trusted to manage your own customers and sales pipeline, with clear visibility of your quotations, follow-ups and sales performance.
We're looking for someone who doesn't need to be constantly given their next task. If you've finished what you're working on, you'll naturally check your outstanding quotes, customer updates and other priorities and see what needs doing next.
