Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and emissions standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and company standards
- Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to carry out tasks
- Carry out heavy lifting when required, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or similar role
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults effectively
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Valid MOT Tester certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
- Relevant automotive qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
