Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Obstetric Sonographer to join our private baby scan clinic. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality ultrasound imaging services to expectant parents, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring experience. We provide early scans from six weeks to late third trimester growth scans, with 4D and gender scans in between. With all our scans a well being report is provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your medical imaging expertise within a specialised, patient-centred environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a genuine passion for patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed ultrasound scans of pregnant patients, focusing on foetal development and wellbeing.
- Operate advanced ultrasound equipment with precision, ensuring accurate imaging results.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, addressing any questions or concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with clinic policies and data protection regulations.
- Be able to collaborate with healthcare professionals within the NHS if needed and refer patients to the appropriate clinical teams.
- Ensure the ultrasound environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- A UK CASE accredited qualification in Obsteric Ultrasound for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Trimester scanning is essential - eg PG Dip or PG Cert
- A valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council is mandatory.
- Proven experience in obstetric ultrasound imaging, ideally within a private or clinical setting.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately.
- Excellent IT skills for managing digital records and operating imaging software effectively.
- Outstanding organisational skills to manage appointments efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient service.
- Ability to work independantly at Advanced Ultrasound Practioner level
Pay: Up to £45.00 per hour
