Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Children’s Home care team, specialising in supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). In this vital role, you will lead by example, providing high-quality care and supervision to promote positive development, independence, and well-being. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of tailored care plans, foster a nurturing environment, and support the overall safety of residents. Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of support workers to deliver exceptional care aligned with individual care plans.
- Develop, review, and implement personalized care plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
- Provide direct support to children and young people, encouraging their independence and social skills development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and progress reports using IT systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, external professionals, and relevant agencies to coordinate care strategies.
- Drive responsibilities include transporting children safely to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a care home setting supporting children or young people with EBD/LD.
- Supervising or leadership experience within a residential or similar environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Competency in using IT systems for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Valid driving license preferred to facilitate transportation duties; experience in safe driving practices essential.
