Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Prep Assistant to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring
- Assist with meal assembly and presentation according to established recipes and standards
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
- Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, including reheating and assembling dishes
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with serving food to customers or staff as required
- Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Familiarity with meal preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment will be beneficial
- Experience in serving or customer service roles is a plus
