We have a fantastic opportunity to join our small, friendly team here at Shirley Swimming Pool, to start or further your career in the leisure industry. We are an independent and family-run, dedicated swim school, for babies all the way up to adults, with everything in between.
We are looking for a Leisure Receptionist/Lifeguard who is motivated, friendly, and happiest when working with people. You will join our front-of-house team, providing excellent customer service to our existing members, responding to new customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner, and ensuring the reception and changing areas are maintained to a high standard at all times. We are looking for a candidate that can build rapport with members, enjoys working in a child-based environment and has a keen eye for detail.
Whilst experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential, as we provide full training for the right candidate. This role includes lifeguarding so you must have a NPLQ qualification. We provide ongoing monthly training, as well as opportunities to train in other areas of the leisure industry, such as pool plant operations and swimming teaching. Essential skills for the role include a good swimming ability, computer literacy, and confidence when communicating with others.
As a leisure assistant /Lifeguard, following your training, you will be required to be the first responder should an incident occur, and must be willing to administer first aid.

Applicants must be 16 years or over and be a strong swimmer.
Part time position, immediate start and shifts will be evenings & weekends, however some shifts may be able to be picked up during the week. As we are open all year round, we need applicants to be able to work during school holidays.

Hours are 6pm-cls (Mon-Thu closing shift finishes at 10pm, Friday 8:30pm, Saturdays 3pm & Sundays 2pm)
The rate per hour goes up on lock ups to £13.30 per hour when manging the building on your own.
You will also be asked to demonstrate in the pool your swimming capability as part of the interview process.
