Overview
We are seeking a FULL TIME dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and assisting with food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients
- Support chefs with cooking duties as required, ensuring cleanliness and organisation of workstations
- Maintain high standards of hygiene by washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils promptly and efficiently
- Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment regularly to meet health and safety standards
- Restock supplies and organise storage areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in serving food to customers or guests when needed
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with general cleaning and organisational tasks
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is advantageous
- Experience in maintaining cleanliness within a professional kitchen or similar environment is beneficial
- Familiarity with hospitality standards related to serving guests is a plus
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment and willingness to learn new skills
