Duties
- Use hand tools and power tools to prune, trim, mow, weed, and shape garden beds and lawns efficiently and safely
- Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules for healthy plant growth
- Assist with planting new greenery, including flowers, shrubs, trees, and other landscape features
- Monitor plant health regularly, identifying pests or diseases early and applying
- horticultural treatments as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris, leaves, and waste to keep gardens pristine
- Support seasonal planting projects and landscape redesigns to enhance aesthetic appeal
- Follow safety protocols when operating equipment and handling chemicals or fertilizers
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes, and hoes for precise gardening work
- Experience with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting to ensure efficient water use
- Ability to operate power tools like hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, blowers, and chainsaws safely and effectively
- Growing experience in horticulture or gardening practices to promote healthy plant development
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and best practices for sustainable gardening
- Passion for gardening and a keen eye for detail in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when needed
