PART TIME CARE HOME CHEF/COOK REQUIRED
£15.00 - £15.50 Per Hour

HOURS: 30 hours per week
3 days per week on a rolling two week rota including weekend availability
As a chef in our care home, you’ll be working hand-in-hand with the Head Chef to plan and prepare a variety of delicious and nutritious meals that cater to our residents’ diverse dietary needs. You’ll need to have a passion for food, a flair for creativity, and a commitment to ensuring that every dish meets the highest standards. We’re looking for someone who is trained to NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent, and who holds at least an intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
Our menus change regularly, reflecting the seasons and the needs of our residents, so if you enjoy a dynamic and ever-evolving kitchen environment, you’ll fit right in. You’ll have the opportunity to get creative, but always with an eye on the special dietary requirements of the people you’re cooking for.
You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, helping to manage stock levels, ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly, and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety. While you’ll have freedom in ordering supplies, you’ll also need to work within a budget to ensure efficiency and maintain consistency.
Working as part of our kitchen team, you’ll play a vital role in promoting health and happiness among our residents, making the role as rewarding as it is meaningful. And, of course, you’ll have the chance to build relationships with our residents as you prepare meals that enhance their day-to-day lives.
What You’ll Need:
- A motivated and reliable attitude, with excellent communication skills
- The ability to work closely and effectively within a team
- A commitment to respecting and caring for each resident as an individual, ensuring that their preferences and dignity are maintained at all times
- The ability to follow instructions from the Head Chef and Home Manager to improve the quality of service
Qualifications:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent in Catering or relevant qualification
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
- Experience in catering or kitchen services
