Advantage Education is currently working with a specialist SEMH provision based in the New Forest and Southampton that is looking to appoint dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support staff to join their growing team.

The Role
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges and additional complex needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, safeguarding teams and outside professionals to ensure every pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
You will be responsible for building positive relationships with pupils, supporting behaviour management strategies and acting as a key point of communication between the school, families and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Creating and implementing individual behaviour support plans
- Liaising with outside agencies, social workers, parents, guardians and law enforcement where required
- Providing 1:1 and small group pastoral support
- Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured times
- Assisting with safeguarding and well-being support across the provision
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals
- Helping pupils re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes
About the Provision
The provision supports children and young people from primary through to secondary age across four specialist sites within the New Forest. Pupils often have EHCPs and may present with SEMH needs, attachment difficulties and additional complex needs.
Class sizes are small, typically no more than seven pupils, allowing staff to provide personalised and consistent support in a nurturing environment.
