If so, Feel Good Suffolk is looking for you. We are looking for a motivated and organised Feel-Good Suffolk Advisor who will be part of our team delivering Feel Good Suffolk services within Babergh.
Feel Good Suffolk is an exciting partnership across Suffolk with the aim of empowering clients to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing including losing weight, giving up smoking, and becoming more active. It is designed to provide a choice of services close to people, at the right time to support steady and lasting improvements to people's health.
Delivered as a partnership between Public Health, local authorities, and partners across the health, leisure, and voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sectors, Feel Good Suffolk provides local opportunities for people looking to improve their health, based around a core provision of Weight Management, Smoking Cessation, and Physical Activity services. Our holistic and person-centered approach will ensure all aspects of health relevant to the client are considered and supported.
As an Advisor, you will be required to triage and undertake ‘what matters to you’ client-centred assessments, build individualised support packages, refer clients to appropriate services and support, and deliver 1 to 1 and group health-based interventions. You will support and empower the client to use their skills and networks to overcome barriers and make positive changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
You’ll be based across Babergh with a primary focus on the Sudbury and Hadleigh localities, providing support to adults by telephone, video call and face to face in local community venues on a one-to-one and group basis. The role will require some evening work to complete client triage and follow up appointments – with outreach and community work required, alongside the opportunity to hybrid work from home where appropriate.
What you will need:
The post holder will have a strong understanding of health behaviours and experience of working with people to make positive changes to their lifestyle. The candidate will have experience of working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds with differing levels of needs and balancing casework.
The candidate will be organised and able to work under pressure to a tight timescales and be a strong communicator with proven active listening skills.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Individuals with smoking cessation backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
A DBS enhanced disclosure will be required for this post.
An NCSCT Smoking cessation, Health or Community related Qualification, Health Coaching Qualification is preferable.
It would be desirable for you to already understand health structures and have experience working in a similar role delivering exceptional coaching through use of interviewing techniques.
