Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester to join our dynamic automotive service team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with MOT testing standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair vehicle systems accurately.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly machinery safely and efficiently.
- Complete detailed reports on vehicle condition, repairs performed, and test results for record-keeping and customer communication.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving engine components or vehicle parts using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting automotive systems.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and testing outcomes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to vehicle inspection, maintenance work, and equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise procedures during MOT testing.
