Graduate Health & Safety Consultant
Location: Belfast Office (with travel to client sites across the 32 counties of Ireland and the UK)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5:00pm | Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm
Start your Health & Safety career with Fiontar Group
At Fiontar Group, we help some of Ireland and the UK's leading organisations create safer workplaces.
Working across sectors including construction, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, education, healthcare, commercial fit-out, retail and critical infrastructure, our consultants support clients through every stage of their projects, from planning through to delivery.
We're looking for an ambitious Graduate Health & Safety Consultant to join our growing Belfast team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career within a consultancy environment, gaining experience across a wide range of industries rather than being based on a single site.
From your first day, you'll work alongside experienced consultants who will mentor and support your development, giving you real responsibility while helping you build the knowledge and confidence to become an accomplished Health & Safety professional.
The Role
This is a varied role combining office-based work with regular visits to client sites.
Working as part of our experienced consultancy team, you will:
- Carry out Health & Safety inspections and workplace audits.
- Support senior consultants in delivering Health & Safety services to clients.
- Assist with client site visits across a variety of industries.
- Deliver and support Health & Safety inductions and Toolbox Talks.
- Prepare and review Health & Safety documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Support clients in maintaining Health & Safety management systems and ISO standards.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations where required.
- Help clients promote positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Continue developing your professional knowledge through mentoring, training and practical experience.
No two weeks are the same. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of projects, industries and challenges, helping you build experience much faster than many traditional graduate roles.
About You
We're looking for someone who is motivated, professional and eager to learn.
Ideally, you'll have:
- A Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Previous industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
