Overview
A specialist education provision in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join the team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support to engage successfully in education.
The provision works with pupils who may present with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, trauma-related needs, or barriers to learning. Through positive relationships, targeted interventions, and consistent support, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
This role is available on a full-time basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured literacy and numeracy interventions to individual pupils and small groups, aligned with EHCP targets and identified learning needs.
- Assess pupil progress and adapt intervention programmes to maximise academic outcomes and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs, therapists, and support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence, and resilience within their learning.
- Utilise a range of intervention tools, phonics programmes, reading strategies and mathematical resources to reinforce core skills.
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress, maintaining accurate intervention tracking documentation.
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes achievement and participation.
- Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs that may impact learning and engagement within intervention sessions.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience delivering literacy and/or numeracy interventions within educational, tutoring, youth work, or SEND settings.
- Strong understanding of differentiated learning strategies and SEND best practice.
- Knowledge of phonics, reading development, mathematical concepts, and intervention programmes.
- Ability to analyse progress data and use outcomes to inform future planning.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant qualification such as Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Education Studies, Child Development, or equivalent experience.
Pay: £95.00-£100.00 per day
