Job Advert Medical Receptionist/ Administrator
- Hours- 37.25 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8.15am-5.30pm and Wednesday 8.15am-12.30pm
- Fixed term, 12-month contract to cover maternity leave, with potential to extend
- Salary- starting at £13.45 per hour
As part of our exciting service redevelopment, Bourtreehill Medical Practice is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised medical receptionist/administrator to join our thriving practice. With 4 GP partners, we are an established training practices within Ayrshire and Arran and therefore you would be joining a driven and dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be educated to SCQF Level 4 (National 4/Standard Grade) with excellent written and verbal communication, along with good computer skills. Experience of working in a healthcare setting would be advantageous and whilst it is desirable to have knowledge of GP based IT systems such as EMIS and Docman, full training will be provided. Outstanding interpersonal and administrative skills are required, alongside ensuring the ability to provide attention to detail and observe strict confidentiality.
This is a fast paced post and duties include dealing carefully and sensitively with patients at reception and on the phone, making appointments, result handling, dealing with general enquiries, processing prescription requests, scanning clinical correspondence, dealing with delegated tasks from clinical staff and general administration. Working as part of a team, you must be able to co-ordinate a variety of office functions simultaneously. Previous experience in a medical environment is desirable.
The hours of this post are 37.25 hours per week, with a fixed shift pattern. Flexibility to work more hours when required. As an extended Hours Practice we operate from 8am- 6pm.
