Medical Receptionist / Administrator
Location: Burnfield Medical Practice, Inverness
Hours: 37 hours per week, worked over 4 full days and 1 half day
Report to: Operations Manager
Job Overview
We are looking for one Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join our busy GP practice team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing a welcoming and professional service both in person and over the phone
Key Responsibilities
· Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
· Manage appointment bookings, including triage patients for the correct appointment or to the appropriate department
· Process repeat prescription requests according to practice guidelines
· Register and handle incoming and outgoing correspondence ensuring patient records are accurate kept up to date
· Liaise with healthcare professionals, pharmacies and external organisations
· Support the practice team with general administrative duties
· Maintain strict adherence to GDPR and patient confidentiality policies
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organisational and time management abilities, and a commitment to high quality patient care. They will ideally have prior administrative experience, with healthcare experience desirable but not essential. They will be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
