Overview
We're building an AI workforce that lets small businesses run and grow themselves. Working alongside technical founder Kai Feller (previous company was UKs largest bootstrapped exit of $300m), we're assembling an elite founding team that moves fast and gets things done.
As a Backend Engineer, you'll design and build the systems that power the AI workforce - scalable APIs, data flows, and intelligent backend infrastructure that enables autonomous yet controlled operations across thousands of businesses. You'll connect the dots between AI reasoning, automation, and real-world execution - building the foundations that turn intelligence into action. This is an engineering role at its best - building intelligent backend systems within a small collaborative group that operates with a sense of urgency and passion for building innovative products.
Role

Design APIs that scale internally & externally to connect products, integrations, and intelligence systems (voice, reasoning, context) together.

Architect robust data flows and pipelines that fuel agent context and decision making.

Develop backend infrastructure and intelligent automation for knowledge extraction and enrichment.

Help shape the product, architecture, and team as we scale.

Stay on the frontier of AI, keeping up to date with emerging tools and technologies to keep us at the edge of whats possible.
Requirements

Deep backend expertise with Python or Javascript.

Previous full ownership of a successful high volume system.

Naturally articulate and able to communicate complex concepts clearly.
