Do you enjoy practical outdoor work and seeing the results of a job well done?
Pro Lawn Ltd is an award-winning independent lawn-treatment company with more than 20 years of experience. We provide professional lawn-care and weed-control services throughout the West of Scotland.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a dependable and hardworking Lawn Care Technician to join our team based in Prestwick.
Previous lawn-care experience is welcome but not essential. We provide full practical and classroom-based training for the right person and may fund PA1 and PA6 pesticide application qualifications for suitable candidates.
About the role
You will visit customers’ properties in a company van and carry out a variety of lawn treatments and improvement work, including:
- Applying lawn fertilisers and approved weed and disease treatments
- Operating professional machinery for aeration and scarification
- Carrying out top-dressing, over-seeding, re-turfing and lawn-restoration work
- Applying weed and moss treatments to hard surfaces once appropriately qualified
- Assisting with lawn-drainage installation
- Loading, maintaining and safely storing equipment and materials
- Monitoring stock levels
- Following all training and safe-working procedures
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Explaining additional lawn-care services that may benefit customers
This is an active, hands-on role involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions. It includes driving between jobs, operating machinery and carrying out physical tasks throughout the working day.
A company van is provided and may be taken home overnight. Technicians normally travel directly from home to their first scheduled customer and must be ready to begin work there at the stated start time. Personal protective equipment is also provided.
Additional earning opportunities
Alongside your hourly pay, you can earn additional money through our uncapped customer referral and sales incentive scheme.
You will receive rewards when you introduce a new customer or when an appropriate service recommendation results in confirmed additional work. Recommendations must always be suitable for the customer and their property.
No previous sales experience is required. We will provide guidance on our services and how to discuss them confidently and professionally.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual and ready to work at the stated start times
- Enjoys practical and physical outdoor work

- Communicates clearly and confidently
- Can work independently after training and as part of a small team
- Is motivated, hardworking and eager to learn
- Can follow instructions and safe-working procedures
- Holds a full, current UK driving licence
- Can travel to our Prestwick base when required for training, meetings, stock collection and vehicle or equipment maintenance
Experience using lawnmowers, gardening machinery or other outdoor equipment would be helpful but is not essential.
PA1 and PA6 pesticide application certificates would be advantageous. Candidates who already hold these qualifications and have relevant experience may be offered up to £13.50 per hour. Applications are also welcome from candidates without these certificates, as we may fund the qualifications for the right person.
