The Role & Daily Routine Your day is structured, straightforward, and consistent:
- Start: Arrive at your choice of yard (Greenwich or Barking) at your preferred time. Your vehicle will already be loaded and fuel ready to go.
- The Run: Drive from London to our dedicated South Wales delivery hub (approx. 310-mile round trip via the M4 corridor).
- At Site: Oversee the safe tipping/unloading of scrap metal at the facility.
- Return: Drive back to your London yard, park up, and finish. Possible backloads at extra pay.
- Hours: Expect a full 11 to 12-hour shift daily, maximizing your driving hours legally.
What We Need From You Because this route maximizes legal driving hours, we need a dependable professional who takes pride in their work:
- Licence: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence. (New passes completely welcome!)
- Cards: Current CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- Compliance: A solid understanding of EU Drivers’ Hours and tachograph regulations to manage your day safely.
- Mindset: Punctual, reliable, and comfortable navigating London traffic.
- Work Ethic: Comfortable working in a metal processing environment (handling heavy loads and securing trailers safely).
