Job Summary
Chigwell Golf Club are looking for a passionate and hardworking Golf & Retail Sales Assistant to join the team and assist with the overall running of the golf shop and member services. This includes member equipment storage, visitor engagement and all front of house duties required in a retail store at a very busy and modern golf club. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for retail and for exceeding customer expectations. The Club is proud of its excellent retail shop and newly refurbished state-of-the-art swing studio, so a commitment to exceptional standards is necessary. Experience of the sport (golf) is preferred but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standard of store and shop floor presentation.
- Ensure a customer-first attitude and a positive member, visitor and society experience.
- Place individual orders in a timely and efficient manner, keeping customers updated.
- Ensure replacement and return procedures are carried out efficiently.
- Attend staff meetings on promotions, targets and management updates as required.
- Provide comprehensive product information and feature benefits to customers.
- Contribute to the achievement of team and individual sales and KPI targets.
- Cash up safely and accurately and undertake key holder responsibilities when required.
- Daily presentation and management of rental services, including electric trolleys and golf buggies.
- Manage all member and visitor custom fitting and coaching bookings.
- Process all member and visitor golf bookings and enquiries as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be reliable and able to work well under pressure.
- Keen interest in retail and the sales process.
- Positive attitude with a hands-on approach to work.
- Flexible availability is essential, with shifts available at any time across the week, including evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proactive mindset.
- Professional, enthusiastic and flexible approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver exceptional customer experience.
- Driving licence and access to transport is essential.
Experience
Experience within the golf industry is preferred, or at least two years’ experience in a similar role. An interest in the game of golf is preferable.

- Hours: Flexible shifts available across a 7-day rota, including weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Salary: Competitive, plus retail commission
Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 5.0 per week
