Job Description:
As a window renovator you will be required to carry out a series of tasks that include:
Renovation- Removing paint, replacing rotten timber, using specialist fillers.
Draught proofing- Installing draught proofing into the original windows and frames.
Painting- Using modern techniques to achieve a top-quality paint finish.
Double glazing - Replacing the glass with double glazed units.
This job involves - Carpentry, painting, decorating and glazing skills.
Use of a variety of tools power e.g. planer, router, sanders, drills etc
Skills/ qualities required:
Dexterity – You will have confidence at using a using a range of tools, applying tape, filler and painting etc
Creative problem solving- Every job is different and will require creativity and problem solving skills assessing and undertaking repairs with timber.
Enthusiasm - We work as a team to get the job done and take pride in achieving the best possible standard in our work, so enthusiasm is vital for this role.
Positive attitude – As you will be working in a small team you will need an open minded and positive approach to the work to keep the team motivated.

Flexibility of working location- Jobs take place all over Bristol.
Health and Safety – You must always wear personal protective clothing relevant to the task you are undertaking - i.e. gloves, mask, ear defenders etc. You will be required to demonstrate the highest of duty of care for health and safety of yourself and others. You will need to work safely at all times and adhere to power tool and equipment usage guidelines.
Trainee status usually lasts around 6 months and pay will rise accordingly after that.

Pay
Pay will start at £110 per day and will rise in stages up to to £150 once fully skilled. We would aim for this to be within 2 years. A higher initial rate could be considered if candidate has specific sash window experience.
This is a permanent role requiring a minimum of 15 days for every 20 working days each month.
We have a break at Christmas of 3 weeks, 1 week at Easter and 4-5 weeks in the summer.
Working hours
Your standard working hours will be 8:00am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. However you are required to demonstrate flexibility at all times in line with the role and will be required to work additional (paid for) hours if required in line with project deadlines.
Experience:
Some experience with painting, decorating and/or carpentry is required. Experience at operating a variety of power tools is an advantage.
