Senior Events and Partnerships Manager
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Are you passionate about creating events that bring people together, generate income and build lasting supporter relationships? Cherry Trees is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Events and Partnerships Manager to lead the strategic development, delivery and growth of our events programme.
This is a key role within our fundraising team. You will take overall responsibility for Cherry Trees’ events programme, from strategy and planning through to delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to shape an ambitious and sustainable portfolio of owned, community and third-party events, ensuring they deliver strong net income, excellent supporter experiences and meaningful engagement.
Alongside your events leadership, around 30% of your time will focus on developing corporate, community, group and school partnerships, particularly opportunities that enhance events, generate sponsorship and participation, or contribute to wider fundraising.
About the role
As Cherry Trees’ lead events specialist, you’ll have real ownership of our events programme. You’ll review what we currently deliver, identify opportunities for growth and develop new ideas that attract new audiences while strengthening relationships with existing supporters.
You will:

Develop and deliver an annual events programme aligned with our fundraising strategy, income targets and organisational priorities.

Review our events portfolio using income, ROI, supporter engagement, resource requirements and strategic value to identify where events should be retained, developed, redesigned or discontinued.

Develop new event concepts and income-generating opportunities.

Create event plans, budgets, income targets, timelines and KPIs, monitoring performance and taking action where required.

Lead the planning and delivery of Cherry Trees’ owned events, coordinating colleagues, volunteers, suppliers and external stakeholders.

Manage event logistics, venues, suppliers, budgets, communications and operational requirements.

Ensure events are delivered professionally and safely, with appropriate risk assessments and safeguarding arrangements.

Build strong relationships with participants, volunteers, committees, suppliers, venues, sponsors and third-party event organisers.

Develop supporter journeys that encourage participants to remain engaged with Cherry Trees and explore other ways to support us.

Use audience insight and supporter data to shape event propositions, recruitment and retention.

Support the development of corporate, community, group and school partnerships, including sponsorship, employee participation, volunteering, match funding, donated goods and gifts in kind.

Monitor and report on event income, expenditure, net contribution, ROI, participation, acquisition, retention and engagement.

Keep a clear pipeline of potential new events and opportunities and use learning and insight to continually improve the programme.

Act as the internal subject matter expert for events, bringing colleagues and stakeholders together around opportunities and ensuring clear responsibilities.
The role involves influencing and coordinating people across the organisation without direct line-management responsibility, so strong collaboration and the ability to bring people together will be important.

The majority of hours are worked Monday to Friday during office hours, with occasional out-of-hours support required for events and other fundraising activities. The successful candidate will travel regularly between Cherry Trees locations to support the needs of the charity.
