Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bank Carer to join our nursing home team on a flexible, bank basis. This role offers the opportunity to provide vital care and support to elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. As a Bank Carer, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality care tailored to individual needs, working alongside a committed team in a warm and welcoming environment. Your role will involve assisting residents with daily activities, implementing care plans, and maintaining effective communication with colleagues and families.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Follow detailed care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs and preferences
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with prescribed guidelines and protocols
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and documentation standards
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and team members to ensure holistic care delivery
- Contribute to creating a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures
Experience
- Previous experience working in a nursing care home setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Basic IT skills for managing electronic care plans and documentation
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation processes is advantageous
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts on a bank basis, including weekends and holidays
