Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker / Tool Maintenance Fitter to join their Toolroom team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing company offering competitive pay and structured shift patterns.
Overall purpose and aims of role:
o To maintain plastic injection mould tools to the company’s planned schedule.
o To repair and/or modify the tools where and when required.
o To record all tool history.
o To ensure tools are stored safely and in the correct location.
o To manufacture and maintain jigs and fixtures.
o To technically support the moulding production department.
o To technically support outside contractors when required.
Main duties and areas of responsibility: -
o Work with the production department to ensure tools are ready for production.
o To report and document any tool damage found.
o To provide solutions to any tool damage or fault.
o Optimise tool maintenance time to ensure the cost is kept to a minimum.
o Take responsibility for the technical training and skill level of any member of the toolroom team, ie share information on any issues with all aspects of the tools and the toolroom.
o To carry out preventative maintenance on all toolroom equipment and machinery.
o To operate and work with your own and others health and safety in mind.
o To report and order, if required, any spares or replacement parts required.
o Any other reasonable duty requested by your direct manager that is beneficial to the company business.
Skills and attributes required :-
o Good technical knowledge of mould tools and ancillary equipment.
o Good technical knowledge of all toolroom equipment and machinery.
o Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
o Target driven.
o Numerate and able to communicate in writing and verbally.
o Ability to motivate.
o Punctual and reliable attendance.
o Good communicator and inter-personal skills.

Shifts: 3x 12 hour shifts - Monday to Wednesday
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £31,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
