Role Overview
- Job Title: Personal Assistant/Administrative Assistant to the GP Business Manager
- Contract Type: Temporary (3 months initially)
- Hours: 10 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Spread across the week. Flexible working arrangements are available by negotiation.
- Salary: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Benefits: NHS Pension Scheme membership and pro-rata annual leave entitlement.

Job Purpose
To provide high-quality, confidential administrative and secretarial support to the GP Business Manager. The successful candidate will manage emails, coordinate the business manager’s diary including allocating time to business activity, ensure robust compliance tracking, and maintain highly organised administrative systems.
Key Responsibilities
Diary & Meeting Management
- Maintain and coordinate the Business Manager's diary.
- Schedule internal and external meetings, including practice and partner meetings.
- Prepare agendas, collate meeting papers, and distribute documents in advance.
- Track outstanding action points arising from key business meetings.
- Allocate time in Business Manager’s diary for specific business activity such as complaints management
Document & Online File Management
- Organize and maintain the practice’s online filing, compliance records, and policy documents using the surgery extranet (Teamnet).
- Manage the systematic review and update of policies and procedures
Recruitment & Compliance Administration
- Coordinate recruitment paperwork, including job advertisements and application filtering.
- Set up interview schedules and correspond with candidates.
- Complete pre-employment compliance checks (DBS checks, right-to-work verification, reference checks).
- Maintain up-to-date personnel folders and tracking systems.
Pay: £12.78-£16.00 per hour
