Mr CB is an adult who sustained a brain injury and requires specialist support to assist with executive functioning difficulties, anxiety management, routine, planning and community engagement.
Mr CB lives independently and benefits from structured, consistent support to assist him in maintaining daily routines, engaging in meaningful activities and reducing social isolation. He can become fixated on particular concerns or problems and may require support to problem-solve, manage anxiety and refocus attention onto productive activities.
The role involves supporting Mr CB both within the home and in the community. Staff should be comfortable participating in a range of social and leisure activities which may include:
- Attending football matches
- Playing snooker
- Going bowling
- Community outings
- Supporting access to hobbies and interests
The role requires a calm, patient and proactive approach, with an understanding of how cognitive difficulties following brain injury can impact day-to-day functioning.
The successful applicant will work closely with the case manager and wider support team to maintain a consistent and person-centred approach.
Key roles and responsibilities of the position:
To provide structured and consistent support within Mr CB's home and the community
§ To support Mr CB with planning and organising daily activities and appointments
§ To assist Mr CB to engage in meaningful social and leisure activities
§ To support anxiety management through reassurance, redirection and structured approaches
§ To assist Mr CB to develop and maintain independent living skills
§ To encourage participation in hobbies, exercise and community-based activities
§ To accompany Mr CB to activities and appointments where appropriate
§ To maintain professional boundaries whilst developing a positive therapeutic rapport
§ To work collaboratively with the case manager and wider professionals involved in Mr CB's care
§ To contribute to support planning and attend team meetings/supervision as required
Pay: £12.89 per hour
