Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated PMVA Trained Residential Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialised support to children and young people within a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Duties
- Deliver personalised care plans tailored to each child's individual needs and circumstances
- Support children with daily activities, including personal care, education, and recreational pursuits
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with PMVA training to promote positive outcomes
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment by monitoring behaviour and intervening when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and progress notes in compliance with organisational policies
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for each child
- Assist with transportation needs by driving children to appointments or activities as required
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Skills
- Proven experience working with children or young people in a residential or childcare setting
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive children safely to various locations
- Knowledge of child development principles and childcare best practices
- Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate attitude with strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies
