Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Joiner/Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and related materials on-site and in workshop environments. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including roofing, joinery, and general carpentry tasks, contributing to high-quality construction and renovation works. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble timber components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery
- Install joinery elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, and mouldings with precision
- Perform roofing tasks including sheathing, framing, and waterproofing as required
- Carry out heavy lifting of materials safely to support construction activities
- Conduct construction painting where necessary to ensure finishes meet quality standards
- Assist with plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks if required, supporting multi-disciplinary projects
- Read technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to safety standards
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as masons, electricians, and plumbers to complete projects efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery with a strong understanding of fabrication and assembly techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, as well as power tools including drills and saws
- Knowledge of roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems or construction painting is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights when necessary
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting components accurately
- Physical fitness to undertake manual labour over extended periods in various weather conditions
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or joinery are preferred
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable for transporting materials or equipment between sites
