Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers, maintaining excellent customer service standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution services. Candidates should possess a valid C1 driver’s licence and preferably have previous experience in delivery or commercial driving.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods across designated routes
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Verify delivery details and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure safe driving practices at all times
- Assist with warehouse tasks when not on deliveries, including stock organisation and inventory checks
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles
- Valid C1 driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience with warehouse operations and handling heavy lifting equipment
- Strong organisational skills to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and team members
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
- Physical fitness to handle heavy loads and long periods of driving or standing
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations relevant to commercial driving
