Work for a specialist contractor working in passive fire protection, and we’re looking for a freelance Fire Door Surveyor to join our team. You’ll be carrying out important work to help maintain and enhance the fire safety of commercial spaces, leisure clubs, student accommodation and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of fire doors across clients’ portfolios and new customers using market leading tech/app and smart survey tools
- Accurately record survey data, including photographic evidence and condition ratings
- Identify non-compliances and provide remedial recommendations based on up-to-date guidance
- Produce clear and concise reports
- Liaise professionally with clients, residents, and site personnel
- Adhere to company procedures and industry regulations, including Health & Safety protocols
- Maintain continual professional development and stay current with fire safety standards
What You’ll Need:
- Recognised fire door inspection qualifications (e.g., FDIS, BM TRADA, Bluesky Cert)
- Relevant experience in fire safety surveying, carpentry, joinery, or passive fire protection
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- IT literacy (familiar with tablets, mobile apps, Microsoft Office)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel and work independently, with occasional overnight stays

- FDIS, BM TRADA, Bluesky Certification - please note the requirement is for FDIS CERT or to be working towards this
