Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to oversee the daily operations of a children's home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a compassionate approach, and relevant experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care settings. This role involves supporting the management team to ensure high standards of care are maintained, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children in need. The Deputy Manager will also play a vital role in supervising staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and smooth running of the children's home
- Supervise and support care staff to deliver high-quality care aligned with individual needs
- Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised care plans for each child
- Oversee medication administration ensuring safety and accuracy in line with policies
- Monitor daily routines, activities, and behavioural management strategies
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child welfare and care standards
- Lead on safeguarding procedures, ensuring children’s safety at all times
- Support staff training and development programmes to enhance team performance
- Maintain accurate records of care provision, incidents, and other documentation as required
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, external agencies, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience in achildren’s home.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or management experience within a care home or similar setting
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Sound understanding of medication administration protocols and safeguarding procedures
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or equivalent are preferred
- Level 3 NVQ in Residential childcare.

Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
