Main Purpose
To service, maintain, and support private residential swimming pools, spas, and associated plant equipment to the highest standards. The role involves ensuring optimum water quality, efficient plant operation, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise and interact professionally with clients, property managers, housekeepers, and contractors.
Carry out weekly and fortnightly servicing of indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spas, and all associated plant equipment.
Inspect, monitor, and ensure the correct operation of plant room equipment and pool room systems, including automatic pool covers.
Carry out comprehensive water sample testing and water quality analysis.
- Undertake manual and automatic water chemistry correction and maintain automatic chemical dosing and water treatment systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, plumbing alterations, and equipment replacements.
- Open and close outdoor pools at the beginning and end of each season.
- Service and maintain air handling units and environmental control systems associated with indoor swimming pools.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to: Filtration systems, Circulation pumps, Heat pumps and boilers, UV and ozone treatment systems, Automatic dosing systems, Pool covers and ancillary equipment.
- Commission new equipment and replacement plant where required.
- Complete detailed service reports and maintenance records using company systems.
- Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety regulations and industry best practice.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional condition.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience servicing residential and/or commercial swimming pools.
- Strong knowledge of pool plant operations and water treatment.
- Experience with automatic chemical dosing systems and water treatment plant.
- Understanding of pool water chemistry and chemical balancing.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, plumbing, and basic electrical faults.
- Experience maintaining air handling and environmental control equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
