We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate Toddler Room Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident Early Years professional to lead our toddler room, creating an engaging, stimulating and caring environment for children aged 2–3 years.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and the confidence to lead a small team while maintaining high standards of care and education. You will be passionate about child-led learning, outdoor play and creating meaningful learning opportunities that help every child thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the toddler room, ensuring high standards of care, learning and wellbeing.
- Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment that supports children's cognitive, physical, social, emotional and language development.
- Plan and deliver exciting, child-led learning experiences in line with the EYFS, making the most of our outdoor environment.
- Observe, assess and monitor children's progress, ensuring records and learning journeys are accurate and meaningful.
- Support children with their individual needs, working closely with families and professionals where appropriate.
- Build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children's development and wellbeing.
- Lead, motivate and support room staff, acting as a positive role model and promoting good practice throughout the team.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Contribute to creating an environment where children feel secure, valued and inspired to learn.
- Support the Nursery Management Team in maintaining high standards across the setting and contributing to continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally with toddlers.
- Previous experience leading a room or mentoring staff is desirable.
- A sound knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and child development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A warm, positive and proactive approach.
- A genuine passion for outdoor learning and supporting children to become confident, independent learners.
