Forest Care Village, a nursing home in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, is looking for a Laundry Assistant (30 hours a week) to join our friendly team.
About the role
As a Laundry Assistant, you'll play an important and valued part in the daily life of our home. Keeping our residents' clothing and linen clean, fresh and well-presented is a simple but meaningful contribution to their comfort and dignity, and your high standards will make a genuine difference to the people in our care.
Forest Care Village is the largest home in our group, so this is a busy laundry with plenty to keep on top of. You'll be part of a well-established team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Washing, drying, ironing and, where needed, repairing residents' clothing and personal items to a consistently high standard
- Maintaining linen stocks for day-to-day use across the home
- Identifying and reporting any issues or concerns to the Senior Housekeeper promptly
- Working in line with the home's infection control and hygiene procedures
What we're looking for
- A reliable, conscientious and hardworking approach
- High personal standards and a genuine attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate
