Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to join our team at Milkwood Care Ltd. This vital role involves planning and implementing engaging activities that enhance the lives of our residents, supporting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate a diverse range of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs.
- Collaborate with care staff to integrate activity plans into daily routines.
- Organize recreational outings, therapeutic sessions, and social events.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as needed.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and resident engagement.
- Support residents in learning new skills and reminiscing through therapeutic techniques.
- Promote a lively, respectful, and caring atmosphere during all activities.
Hours
36 hours per week - including alternating weekend shifts.
Essential Requirement
Due to the nature of the job, which will include outings from the home, a full clean UK driving license is required for this role.
For insurance purposes, applicants must be 25 years old or over to drive our company vehicals, which is required for this role.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Strong understanding of dementia and Alzheimer's care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging seniors in meaningful activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to elderly care activities.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents' changing needs.
- Relevant certifications in activity coordination or elderly care are preferred.
