Are you looking for a flexible cleaning role where your work helps create a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for children? Join our team as a Nursery Cleaner and play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Cleaning Tasks:
- Mop and vacuum floors in three playrooms and hallways.
- Antibacterial cleaning of frequently touched surfaces such as handles and drawers.
- Clean room kitchen areas, wipe surfaces, and window sills.
- Maintain cleanliness in two bathrooms (adult and children).
- Hoover and wipe staff areas.
- Take out general waste bins (recycling handled by the team).
- Monthly Deep Cleaning Tasks:
- Scrub rugs, clean behind cupboards, dust skirting boards, and perform detailed cleaning in one room per day.
- Security Duties:
- Set the alarm and securely lock up the building after completing cleaning tasks.
What We Offer:
- Cleaning takes place when the nursery is empty (no children or staff present) from 6pm onwards. This is done in a 2 hour evening slot - at a time that suits you.
- All cleaning products and equipment provided.
- Comprehensive induction by our current cleaner.
- Training on COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), data protection, and more.
- A cleaning communications book to leave notes or requests for the team.
- No work required on bank holidays.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in cleaning roles (preferably in a nursery or childcare setting, though not essential).
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning products.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and ensure thorough cleaning within allocated hours.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Key holder experience is desirable.
