All-Round Fully Experienced Chef
Stirk House in Gisburn, Lancashire is a historic manor house originating from 1635 and first opened its doors to guests in 1933. Stirk House is now a stunning 34-bedroom hotel, restaurant and wedding venue, sitting within 22 acres of glorious countryside, with beautifully landscaped gardens, patios, lawns and woodland areas with nature trail. Stirk House has been lovingly owned by the Caddy family for over two decades.
However, what makes Stirk House Hotel extra special is the hand-picked staff team who genuinely feel they are a part of the Stirk House family. Their aim is to make every guest feel they are being welcomed into their country house.
The role and environment
Stirk House Hotel has two kitchens staffed by one amazing kitchen team.
"Regen" based function facility for up to 250 guests operated from a separate kitchen plus a 50-cover Restaurant Kitchen serving Breakfast and Dinner.
Lounge Service is available all day with Afternoon Teas in the afternoon.
We have a supportive culture with a zero-tolerance policy for kitchen toxicity. We foster a respectful and collaborative team. Our kitchen environment is calm, focused and unhurried.
We are looking to recruit a passionate and dedicated Chef, who loves cooking as a way of life. Speed is not part of our vocabulary, but we do get busy. Candidates must be proficient in all the basics of quality British cuisine with several years’ experience in Country House style hotels and have great reliability.
Our Kitchen is part of our Food Service culture and as such, we will do whatever we can to deliver what the customers are asking for.

What We Offer:
Salary and Hours: Salary based on £17.00 per hour for an average 48-hour working week + Gratuities + a share of our "Share the Success Scheme" which last year distributed over £26,000 between the whole staff team. No split shifts.
Food and Drinks: Free soft drinks/tea/coffee on shift . Free or subsided meals on shift.
Staff Discount: discounts on food, beverages and stays when off duty
Pay: £17.00 per hour
