Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our care facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living and home care, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills while managing a team of healthcare professionals. This role requires a compassionate individual who is committed to providing high-quality care, particularly for residents with dementia and other complex needs. The Registered Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and developing effective care plans tailored to each resident's requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the agency, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Ensure the agency operates in compliance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations and other relevant standards.
- Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
- Ensure that all nurses and healthcare staff meet NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) requirements.
- Ensure that all services comply with CQC regulations, Safeguarding Adults and Children policies, and other statutory requirements.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and know how to report concerns.
- Maintain effective safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all staff follow best practices to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance checks.
- Lead and support a team of nurses and care staff, fostering a positive working environment.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans for residents, ensuring they meet their specific needs.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or home care settings
- Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and medication administration protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with residents, families, and staff.
- A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating empathy towards residents' needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being able to work independently when required.
