Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to oversee our nursery’s youngest children. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with infants and toddlers. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development and supports both children and staff. The Baby Room Leader will be responsible for guiding a team of childcare professionals, ensuring high standards of care, and fostering positive relationships with families.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective daily operations.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote early learning, development, and well-being.
- Ensure the safety and security of all children in the nursery at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's development and daily experiences.
- Organise rota schedules for staff to ensure adequate cover within the baby room.
- Support staff training and professional development to uphold high standards of childcare.
- Ensure compliance with nursery policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to early childhood education.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children’s curiosity and social skills.
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare setting, preferably in a nursery or early years environment.
- Extensive experience working directly with children, particularly infants and toddlers.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in childcare.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with colleagues and families.
- Previous nursery experience is essential; additional qualifications in early childhood education are highly desirable
Pay: £12.90-£13.00 per hour
