We are currently looking to recruit a Junior IT Technician at our Castleford site.
The Person
- Good working knowledge, awareness or willingness to develop in the following areas:
- Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to log, monitor, update and prioritise support tickets accurately
- Ability to gather clear information from users to support investigation and resolution of issues
- Basic PC hardware, Windows desktop and peripheral support
- Current Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi and printers
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team
- Full clean driving licence
Experience in the following would also be beneficial:
- Helpdesk, service desk, or first-line IT support experience
- Use of IT ticketing systems
- Microsoft 365 administration and user support
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, or Entra ID
- VPN, WAN, or remote access support

The Role
The post holder will provide first-line IT support at the Castleford site, ensuring IT issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved efficiently. The role will support the wider IT team by monitoring support tickets, gathering user information, resolving routine technical issues, and escalating more complex problems to developers or higher-level IT support as required.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Provide first-line IT support to users at the Castleford site.
2. Log, prioritise, and track IT support requests.
3. Monitor and manage incoming helpdesk tickets.
4. Gather clear and accurate information from users to diagnose issues.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve routine hardware, software, and system issues.
6. Maintain professional and timely communication with users throughout the support process.
7. Escalate complex or unresolved issues to developers or senior IT support teams.
8. Support the wider IT team in delivering an efficient and responsive IT service.
