Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a residential children's home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), trauma-related needs, and complex behaviours.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective leadership and management of the home, ensuring exceptional standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance whilst creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and maintain full compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the children's home in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Promote a trauma-informed and child-centred approach to care and support.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all children and young people within the home.
- Develop, implement, and review high-quality placement plans, risk assessments, behaviour support strategies, and care plans.
- Create a positive, stable, and nurturing environment that supports young people to achieve their full potential.
- Lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing team through regular supervisions, appraisals, mentoring, and training.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, recruitment, and retention to ensure the home operates effectively at all times.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with Local Authorities, Social Workers, Ofsted, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Ensure all incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints, and notifications are managed appropriately and reported in line with statutory requirements.
- Monitor and improve the quality of care through audits, quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement plans.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the home remains financially sustainable whilst delivering outstanding care.
- Drive positive Ofsted outcomes and strive towards achieving and maintaining a "Good" or "Outstanding" rating.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within regulatory timescales).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a position relevant to residential childcare.
- Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role within a children's residential setting.
- Thorough understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, attachment difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager Or well experienced Deputy.
- Experience achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
- Knowledge of therapeutic models and restorative practice.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, learning disabilities, or complex behaviours.

Salary
£50,000 - £62,000 per annum (dependent on experience, qualifications, and track record), plus bonuses .
Pay: £50,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
