Day-to-day tasks
In this role:
- answering the phone
- replying to emails
- greeting customers
- setting up appointments
- taking payments
- typing letters and other business documents
- updating computer records
- printing and photocopying items
- ordering office supplies
- filing documents
- keeping the office space and showroom clean and tidy
Specific to our company:
- booking in work for installers
- monitoring and ordering stock
- ensuring regular skip rotation
- monitoring remedial work
- checking deliveries
- quoting and ordering trade counter sales
- quoting and ordering double glazed units
Possible progression:
- quoting and ordering windows, doors and more
- accounting
- advertising
- warehouse roles
- learning more about the installation process
- setting up new procedures and processes
Must have qualities:
- friendly and polite telephone manner
- neat and tidy appearance
- punctuality
- good time keeping skills and promptly responding to tasks
- team player
- working on own initiative and bringing new ideas into the office
Entry requirements:
- enthusiasm to learn on the job and gain an understanding of the products we sell
- willingness to stay with the company and progress
- GCSE English and Maths at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent
Desirable but not essential:
- experience working in a trade environment
- experience working within the industry
Working hours:
- require full time employee for continuity within the office
- Monday-Friday 8:30-16:30
- all weekends and bank holidays off (extended break at Christmas)
Uniform:
- smart workwear
- uniform can be provided following trial period
Pay:
- minimum wage
- to be confirmed, dependent on experience
Start date:
17th August 2026 or as soon as possible
