Kitchen Assistant – Full-Time (38.5 Hours per Week)
Location: Forest Manor Nursing Home, Sutton-in-Ashfield
Hours: 38.5 hours per week – early morning to afternoon shifts
Contract: Permanent
Pay: £12.71
At Forest Manor Nursing Home, we understand the important role that nutritious, well-prepared meals play in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated kitchen team and support the delivery of high-quality meals in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to assist with food preparation, meal service and maintaining excellent standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen. This is a rewarding role where your contribution helps enhance the daily lives of our residents.
Assist with the preparation of meals, snacks and refreshments for residents.
Wash, peel, chop and prepare ingredients as directed by the Head Chef.
Support the serving of meals in line with residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment, ensuring work areas remain tidy and organised.
Assist with stock rotation, storage and the checking of deliveries.
Support the kitchen team during busy periods and special events within the home.
Follow all food safety, health and safety, and infection control procedures.

Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
