Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care and service. This role involves walking dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness while in our care. The Dog Walker will also interact with pet owners, providing updates and addressing any concerns they may have.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs individually or in small groups, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialisation.
- Monitor the behaviour and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Maintain a safe environment for the dogs by adhering to all safety protocols during walks.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and behaviours.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, such as carrying supplies or managing larger breeds.
- Ensure all necessary equipment (leashes, harnesses, waste bags) is in good condition before each walk.
- Keep accurate records of each dog's walking schedule and any relevant notes on their behaviour or health.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is desirable but not essential.
- Strong customer service skills are essential for effective communication with pet owners.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments confidently.
- Experience with heavy lifting is an advantage, as some tasks may require moving equipment or supplies.
