Glenburnie Lodge Care Community is looking for a Head of Activities to work in our luxury care home in Wenvoe.
You will be required to work 40 hours per week, this will include some weekends and evenings.
JOB PURPOSE:
· To support and enable residents to access activities based on their personal interests and to continually review the activities programme so as to ensure it meets resident’s needs and in accordance with best practice, agreed policy and procedures, standards and legislative regulations.
· Plan and co-ordinate, with the Home Director, internal and external events that provide activity opportunities for residents, and engage with our local community to raise the profile of the home
· Set and publish a timetable of weekly activities for residents 4 weeks to be published in advance.
· Ensure that the activities programme provides a wide variety of interesting and stimulating activities that utilise all of the facilities within the home.
· To actively participate within your role in a service that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
Main Responsibilities:
· Develop effective working relationships with all other team members, cooperating with members of other disciplines to maximise the best opportunities for the delivery of effective activities.
· Plan and implement activity timetables to ensure all residents are involved in activities that interest them personally on a regular basis.
· Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.
· Implement actions to meet and maintain activities standards.
· Ensure that residents rights are protected.
· Record relevant activity and impact of activities for residents in care plans.
· Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of activities.
· Encourage health promotion within activities strategies.
· Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
· Support the effective resolution of team conflicts.
· Take time to learn about residents as individuals.
· Create ideas to improve life for the residents.
· Demonstrate responsibility for health and safety in the home environment and during excursions, for residents, staff and visitors, reporting any accidents or potential hazards to the person in charge.
· Adhere to the whistle blowing policies and procedures.
· Undertake any other duties consistent with the post.
