SEMH Teacher
A friendly, specialist independent school in Oldham are seeking a dynamic SEMH Teacher to work with small classes of students on a long-term contractual basis (mat cover) from October 2026.
This is a special opportunity to join a close-knit, growing provision catering to students aged 11-19 with a range of complex SEMH and ASC needs as SEMH Teacher. You will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality, nurturing education in the long-term absence of the class teacher, as a valued, welcomed member of the team!
Job specification:
· Full-time, fixed-term contract for up to 12mo
· SEMH and complex ASC needs with low-level attainment, KS3-4 age group
· Teach nurture-style timetable of core subjects in a Primary-style model
· Join a friendly, welcoming team of SEND professionals in a small, independent setting
· October start
· Pay: £120-£200 p/day via Umbrella
Person specification:
· QTS/QTLS - essential
· TeamTeach L2+ - essential
· Experience working with SEND/SEMH students (not necessarily in a classroom setting)
· Strong rapport-building and relational, child-centred approach to education
· Ability to engage small groups of students in core and life-skills subjects
· Resilience and adaptability is key
As SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver a nurture timetable comprised of core subjects to KS3-4 students with a range of complex SEMH/ASC needs. You will be supported and welcomed into this specialist setting, utilising effective classroom/behaviour management skills and building strong rapport with your small class of students.
With a key SEMH Teacher on maternity leave from October, this specialist setting is looking for a dynamic, competent SEMH Teacher to step into the breach and hit the ground running from day 1!
