As a result of a strong forward workload, G M Piling are looking to grow the piling team with somebody who has industry experience in designing and pricing load bearing piles and retaining walls.
The Role
You will join a close team of design estimators to undertake the design and pricing of piling projects. You will produce engineering solutions for sites with ground condition unsuitable for a traditional foundation solution. By joining a small, closely knit team, you will immediately become a key part of our business and have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of tasks. You will be well supported in your development towards your career goals with the assistance of experienced senior staff.
General Responsibilities
- Production of design calculations for both load bearing and embedded retaining wall piles.
- Preparation of tender submissions.
- Assisting external engineers with early design advice.
- Attending contract/progress meetings with potential clients.
- Other office duties
Profile
- You will be a self-starter, with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Willingness to develop technical abilities in piling disciplines with an analytical approach to problem solving.
- A good communicator, capable of effective interaction with internal and external parties through both written and oral.
- Competent in the use of digital technology.
Key Skills & Experience:
The ideal applicant will have 3+ years of insuctry experience, a conscientious approach to tasks and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
- You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Earth Sciences.
- You will have good English and mathematic skills.
- You will have 3+ years of inductry experience in designing and pricing piling projects.
- You will be eligible to live and work in the UK and be prepared to travel locally and across the UK from time to time.
- Full valid driving license.
