Role Details :
- The role of the Quality Management Lead (QML) is to ensure MEH Alliance (MEHA) quality requirements are complied with across the full project life cycle (Contract award, Design, Procurement, Manufacture, Test, Shipping, Construction/Installation, Test/Commission and Contract close out)
- The primary purpose of the QML is to ensure supply-chain adherence to the contracted quality assurance and quality control requirements
- The secondary purpose of the QML is to support the MEHA to achieve adherence with the Integrated Management System (IMS) arrangements
- The QML will support the Project Manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team, acting as the single point of contact for all quality related elements associated with the supply chain
- During manufacturing, the QML shall ensure that manufactured equipment and components conform to the contract design and technical specifications
- The QML will work closely with all other project functions and the supply chain to ensure that project quality is delivered consistently (safely, efficiently and right first time) compliant with the scope of work and quality arrangements
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure key quality contractual arrangements are cascaded and understood by the supply chain, including requirements for Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs)
- Identify the need for supply chain audits, perform audits and resolve findings
- Review, accept and monitor quality deliverables produced by the supply chain
- Ensure manufacturing surveillance per contract is applied in a graded approach of safety function and project importance
- Ensure overall effectiveness of Inspection and Test Plans submitted by the suppliers, checking that they are fit for purpose from a quality perspective and correctly distributed to the relevant internal parties for mark-up of the activities to be witnessed
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including contracted inspection entities
- Support the monitoring and technical resolution of non-conformances, including the management of corrections and corrective actions
- Responsible for the review of the end of manufacturing records, and quality release of equipment from the suppliers’ premises
- Implement the MEHA quality execution plan and ensure quality management processes are correctly applied
- Line management of Quality Engineers including setting objectives, monitoring performance, performing annual appraisals and supporting their professional development
Key Requirements:
- HNC/HND in Quality Management or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification
- Experience performing supplier audits
- Position requires experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality, with a solid understanding of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning
- A clear and considerable understanding of quality management best practice for deployment by large, complex and contract-led organisations
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO 9001, ISO 19443, IAEA GSR-2 and interrelated standards
- Confident and articulate communicator, able to prepare presentation material, and comfortable addressing individuals, small groups and large audiences
